You might have forgotten about these these Nathan, but, Erik's already painted each of the THY/TURKISH AIRLINES aircraft as recently featured within PP4 of his previews thread These have been processed are just awaiting release .... in fact they'd have been available for download now had we not prioritized the DMFS rescue. Here's what coming and/or is already done ... TURKISH AIRLINES DC-10-10 TC-JAU "Istanbul" (1974)TURKISH AIRLINES DC-10-10 TC-JAY "Izmir" (1980)TURKISH AIRLINES DC-10-10 TC-JAU "Istanbul" (1989)In addition to the above THY's Tony's already done BHT/BOGAZICI .... .... and which I think concludes all of the "Turkish Tens". The BHT's available from our "DC-10-10" downloads page. Mark C AKL/NZ

D’oh 🤦🏻♂️ I thought I was going crazy, I was certain that I had seen them but kept looking at the “downloads” page and saw nada. I was sure I was starting to lose it in my old age.
Or…. Wow, that was quick, I only just suggested them and phoop they’re done 😂 Thanks Mark and a massive thank you to Erik for these beautiful renditions. Also, thanks to Tony for the gorgeous BHT repaint.
Cheers, Nathan

"ABSOLUTELY NOT" .... and "FOR THAT VERY REASON".

"ABSOLUTELY NOT" .... and "FOR THAT VERY REASON". Appreciate the sentiment, but why is HJG willing to host G-APFE and (albeit not in the livery it had when it crashed) N1819U, but not TC-JAV? George

Speaking only for myself, I like to paint the most typical, non-notable variants of a given livery (with the exception of special liveries, named aircraft, etc- some of which have been lost in notable accidents), just as a matter of preference. I'm sure not every painter feels as strongly about that, which is perfectly understandable!

Not sure Garry was aware of that particular aircraft's history when he painted it .... and in any case I think it "is" (purely coincidentally though) the version of livery that aircraft supported at the time.
Subjects are generally painted aided by the very best of photographic material available to the painter .... it's inevitable some references might relate to accident subjects aircraft but painters might not necessarily be aware of that. They can be forgiven for not checking an aircraft's history .... since the time and effort required to do so is often unjustified considering all they want to do is to able to enjoy what they do for everyone else's benefit.
HJG doesn't have a standing policy in regard to accident aircraft.
A few liveries we offer do indeed relate to accident aircraft subjects, but, that's usually happened for either of the following reasons ....
1. We didn't know, at the time the subject was being produced, it was an accident aircraft subject.
2. The texture offered only became an accident aircraft subject "after" (sometimes long after) we released it.
3. Full representation of livery and configuration variations supported by aircraft fleets of some airlines/operators are offered by HJG and in at least 1 or 2 cases among the thousands of textures we offer and this's inevitably resulted in an accident aircraft subject being represented (ZK-NZB is one and ZK-NZP is another) too .... but .... "only in the interests of our being able to provide full and complete historic representation of such liveries/configurations supported by aircraft of a particular airline/operator".
As stated previously o this forum .... our preference (where possible) is to try'n avoid "intentional representation" of accident/incident aircraft subjects .... beyond reasoning of each of the above 3 clauses at least 😉
