When ever I try to do a flight with the 707, I notice that its panel seems to be 'Unfunctionable'. Whenever I try to use autopilot, throttle, or any part of the panel, it just seems to not work at all, I tried to reinstall the gauges, but nah, still ain't workin, I still hope that the 'Portable in FSX' is still true to its words, not just having a nuts ton of BMP's in my schucksing file! What to do!!!!!

Sorry about the delay getting back to you in regard to this .... busy moving into a new home and prioritizing getting it running the way we want it to . ANYWAY ... Firstly .... "All 20X" of the B707/720 panels and their supporting gauges (by George CARTY) are "FS2004 native and FSX portable" .... if they weren't then we wouldn't say so Secondly .... only the following "GENERIC" panel version is "NOT" FSX portable and which I've been intending to have "REMOVED", so, don't use this following (only) panel version in FSX .... The rest you can use in FSX. Getting back to your problem .... You've not mentioned precisely which B707 panel and base pack you're using .... nor have you stated which WINDOWS OS supports your FSX installation either. You need to communicate this information .... just "707 and it's panel" is way too vague for us to be able to properly analyse issues ALSO .... in order for the panel features to be able operate correctly you need to ensure the "BATTERY" switch (on the FE sub panel) is selected "ON" .... and if all 4 engines are running you also need to ensure the "GEN" switch (also on the FS sub panel) is set to either its engine "1/2/3/or 4" positions .... or nothing will work properly if at all. Beyond clarification in regard to the above essential panel version and WINDOWS OS information and panel configuration steps .... I want you review my following-linked forum based B707 Manual .... B707 MANUALtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9861/b707-installation-handling-notesWithin the above manual I want you to pay close attention to each of the following listed sections in order to confirm you've installed everything correctly "in accordance with FSX" (and not the default FS2004) protocols .... and that you also also have the panel/s correctly configured too .... 1.08: "B707 PANEL INSTALLATION"B707 INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES # 7 (entire section) Once again these panels work fine in FSX .... "if correctly installed" .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Lla0w3t2AQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=QTFP3s16Mrcwww.youtube.com/watch?v=062yK9nppZAMark C AKL/NZ

Mark C AKL/NZ I use a 22H2 Windows 10, I have used the according Panels for my Aircraft (-320B "Early". -320C "AA 1965" for the 320C. -420, And the 367-80 for the C-135's) I did follow the manual, put [ fltsim]alias/fsfsconv=707-blah blah blah on the aircraft panels, It just doesn't work! And also the battery doesn't work too since well.. the whole schucksing panel isnt functionable!

As earlier stated these simulations do work "in FSX" with WINDOWS XP and 7 (as evidenced per the above video link) .... and should also work in WINDOWS 10 and possibly (though I can't confirm this) 11 too. The earlier-linked manual clearly states the cited installation procedures are for "FS2004" .... 1.08: "B707 PANEL INSTALLATION" (default FS2004 only procedures). If FS2004 procedure are implemented into FSX then installation of these simulations will either fail or result in other problems .... short of any FSX/WINDOWS 10 incompatiblty which (again) I can't confirm. I'm sure you're aware FSX is "extremely sensitive" in regard to its installation protocols. From what you describe (and short of any WINDOWS 10 related incompatibility if such exists at all in this particular case) you may simply have panel components (possibly the Gauges/Core Files element) installed within the wrong FSX destinations folders .... although such would normally result in an FS no-show meaning you wouldn't be able to select anything to fly. I'm currently preoccupied with moving into a newly acquired property whilst also marketing another, so, my time's "extremely limited" at the moment .... I'm sorry Therefore on this occasion I'm going to "have to" refer you to the following 3 HJG recommended FSX installation procedures .... each of which focus upon B707 installtion .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/2081/easiest-installing-fsx-imhotonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/1662/installing-hjg-aircraft-fsxtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/3033/thirdAll 3 of the above procedures have been proven to work .... or they wouldn't be recommended. Additionally here's an FSX related video tutorial (relating specifically to the HJHG B707's) too .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV7VQhG3ZWQThe only amendment required to the above-linked video is since it was produced "FSX specific sound packs" are now provided for our entire B707/720/C135 line. Best I can do for you and for the moment "BLAHBLAHGATS" .... given my greater priorities at present Mark C AKL/NZ

What you describe (the panel background shows correctly but no gauges are functioning) sounds like you don't have the Core Files installed correctly: open your FSX installation's Gauges folder in Windows Explorer (the default location under 64-bit Windows would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\Gauges) and check you can see the following files: - 707-120.GAU
- 707-320.GAU
- 707-LATE.GAU
Incidentally, my own current Windows 10 PC does have a problem with panels which prevents it from running FS2004 properly (panel gauges only update at the moment panel lighting is turned on or off), but I don't think this is what you're seeing as this problem of mine affects all planes (including the default ones), and I don't think you'd have reported the 707 panels specifically as a problem in that case. Hope this helps, George Carty

Update, I have found out that during installation, I practically sent the whole "gauges" folder from the core file folder, to well, the main "Gauges" Directory, that includes a folder, Also named gauges.I am deeply sorry for such stupid behavior I have made for you my friend, It's just I am too dumb to fix up the darn problem. I have become the dumb, the clown of the class.

"THANK YOU" George WELL .... least you have the guts, courage, and courtesy to publicly admit your mistake .... and which is more than I can say of some people over the past (my past) 23 years with this group .... "APOLOGY ACCEPTED" Trust you're all sorted now. Don't forget the add-on FSUIPC requirement (in order for the WX Radar to be able to function) if you don't already have it .... in either "free" or "fully licensed" form. As you're obviously new to the HJG B707 SERIES (and C135 SERIES also) I recommend you take time to study SECTIONS 1/7/and 8 of both manuals (this is the essential information) .... B707 MANUALtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9861/b707-installation-handling-notesC135 MANUALtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9860/135-series-installation-handling-notesSECTIONS 2/3/4/5/and 6 of both manuals primarily relate to panel gauges and systems .... and their difference between some panel versions. Almost everything one needs to know, and do, is covered within these manuals Enjoy these simulations. Now I can carry on selling houses Mark C AKL/NZ
