Hey,
I've looking for a Boeing 707 with a panel of Boeing 707 and i found it at HJG. I understand that it has been convert to FSX. The problem is that ALL Windows Vista PC does not allow HJG Boeing 707 to work in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I found out that the security system doesn't access a code (which i could not find) and when you're in the game, the exterior of the plane work fine, it can fly and can be seen outside but the cockpit, it does not have gauge shown, only the picture without the gauges.
My Windows Vista, Windows Vista Home Premium, Intel Core 2 T5600 at 1.83GHz, 1GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400, HP dv6204TX
And lastly, Take a look at the latest FSX Civil Jet aircraft, Boeing 727, That works well in my PC, including the gauges.

I don't think any freeware add-on (or most payware ones) will have security codes, as they cost about $200 per year! This means that almost any FS panel which uses C rather than XML gauges (and all of HJG's panels use C gauges) will give these security alerts.
I had no problems getting the 707 to work on my Vista laptop (at least no more than on my XP desktop).
Try adding the following lines to the [Trusted] section of your FSX.CFG file (change the path to your gauge directory if necessary):
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\707-120.GAU.ttklockloneaohoqteechaunorathiuntnirzqai=2 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\707-320.GAU.wnalqhohebbwlqaalriceiwnruqrqeleakcuuqoa=2 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\707-late.GAU.uiwuitcuetthuikbaeeluhunthwakkrzqezhehqc=2
On a Vista system, you will most likely find your FSX.CFG in C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ .

Hey, Can you do it step by step with picture if possible, especially the steps of changing the gauges.

No need to actually change the gauges, just find your FSX.CFG and apply the edit I mentioned. You will only need to change the path given in the three lines to add if you installed FSX in a directory other than the default of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ .

Hello, I tried adding the 3 lines in the FSX.CFG and it didn't work. Here are the lines, for these HJG gauges, in my original FSX.CFG file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\707-120.GAU.ulencqtowualruuihlhlirnentcznnkrkechzero=2 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\707-320.GAU.wotrrquktqbceibiqrattltacncruzcbawanhcco=2

"BENJAMIN212" .... I hope this does not seem like a silly reply .... I want to check that you have actually downloaded the seperate B707 panels gauges/core files package from our "BOEING PANELS" downloads page. That file is named .... B707 Gauges (required for all panels)The 3 gauges files contained within this folder should be installed inside the FS "GAUGES" folder. The only reason I ask this otherwise apparently silly question is because there have in the past been a few instances where folk have downloaded and installed the panels .... but .... omitted to download and install the supporting gauges. Obviously I want to check this does not apply to your case. Please check and advise. Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Benjamin and welcome to the forum. Others seem to have their HJG aircraft working fairly well in Vista. Unfortunately I cannot test it, because I don't have VISTA. (Yet) The lines George mentions, are automatically generated when you accept the warning pop-up the first time you start the sim by either having a HJG-aircraft as default or when you select one. Because the gau isn't signed, as George rightfully pointed out, you are presented for this warning box (see my install guide for a pictorial as well). When you accept this you also have the possibility to accept it only once or forever. And by doing that FSX places a line in the FSX.cfg as mentioned above. I don't think copying one persons lines onto another persons computer will solve anything, as the awkward looking line of characters after the .gau is different on each system. So you have to let YOUR FSX create its own by accepting the warning. Regarding the missing gau, I think you haven't followed the guide as Mark also indicates. If you don't accept the warning at the beginning you wouldn't even be able to load you aircraft, so I think your problem lies in an incomplete install. so please take a few minutes to read through the "One way of installing......"-thread right above this one. Or you can go to it right hereGood luck. (Btw. you may be so lucky to experience the CTD as some VISTA user have, but then again you may not)

Hey, I had already did those stuff, but, it sound confusing. Which FSX.cfg are you talking about. I did all the steps from the admin but adding the three lines you've given to me, i am a little confuse. There is Panel.cfg, aircraft.cfg. So which one are you talking about? Benjamin

You only have one FSX.cfg - I mentioned the path where you should find it:
C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.cfg

Sorry Benjamin, which part is confusing? I'll try to elaborate... and I tell you again... you shouldn't place those entries yourself. FSX does it for you. But you can of course check that they have actually been added.
As a matter of fact. because I do a lot of testing, each time I install a new gau with the same name a new line will be added. so every once in a while I delete them all (the entry lines), just to have some "housekeeping" otherwise I would have several 707-120.gau ...each with its own serial number.... tends to be a bit confusing in the long run....

Hey, I had done the steps on how do you install the Boeing 707 into FSX, I had done all this steps and now i am trying to add the three lines george gave me and i have no idea where to find it. Besides, I download the Boeing 367-80 version. I only need help on finding the three lines george gave me as i went to FSX, there is no Boeing 367-80 aircraft which i had just done. Hope this will help, Benjamin.

Benjamin, do you have a C:\Users directory at all? Or do you have a C:\Documents and Settings\ directory instead (perhaps if you upgraded from XP)?

Sorry Benjamin did you actually read the line where I said, and I quote:
and I tell you again... you shouldn't place those entries yourself. FSX does it for you. But you can of course check that they have actually been added.
George has pointed you to the exact place where to find your FSX.cfg file. Be sure that you are able to see all files, and that VISTA isn't hiding something for you.
Obviously you haven't set up you panel configuration correct. If you had, you would see the instruments.
You might even have placed your core files wrongly. The tutorial say very precisely where to place the various files.
Apart from that the 387 hasn't got a HJG panel at this time, so you should at least have the default B747 panel.
One small glitch tough. The panel.cfg aliases to the default B747_400 panel so this might be the reason you haven't seen the warnings, and thus the entries aren't created.
But if you still can't see any instruments, the alias path is wrong. The alias is a relative path to the given aircraft...
If you have installed your aircraft in the airplane folder, this should be correct, if you have installed it in any other folder you should change the alias path accordingly.
