Folks .... here are some important explanatory notes regarding this bonus website update ....
1. "PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" for our new/updated CV880 & CV990 panels/aircraft have been posted on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page. P-L-E-A-S-E .... We strongly recommend folk take time to study these notes carefully.
Before installing these new/updated panels you should remove our old CV880/990 panel from FS. Do not apply our new gauges/core files to the old panel version .... it simply will not work .... you must install everything fresh !
Similarly you must replace all original CV880 and CV990 aircraft base packs with the new versions uploaded. Do not run these new panel versions with old aircraft base packs/FD editing .... "AGAIN WE STRESS THAT YOU MUST REPLACE EVERYTHING WITH THESE NEW VERSION FILES".
Failure to follow these basic instructions will result in either improper/unrealistic performance or other problems.
2. There are now 2 CV990 download tabs on our main DOWNLOADS page.
The 1st tab is named "CV990" and hosts the early CV990 version aircraft, and a single 1962 American Airlines texture.
The 2nd tab is named "CV990-A" and hosts the later/modified CV990-A aircraft, and the majority of our textures for this aircraft type.
There are 2 seperate base packs for our CV990 type aircraft. 1 for the early aircraft version, and the other for the later/modified aircraft version. Each base pack is supported by different FD editing .... do not get these mixed. Both aircraft versions use the same new CV990-A panel.
4. We have also uploaded a new B707 aircraft base pack for "B707-320C".
This new file each contains 2 new models featuring "STAGE 2 HUSH KIT" equipped engines .... known internally here at HJG as "S2HK" models.
PLEASE NOTE: There has been no change whatsoever to any of the FD editing for these B707 versions.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: We are releasing these new S2HK models in advance of any textures for them. We expect to begin a slow upgrade of the appropriate existing aircraft textures with their respective S2HK models over commimg weeks.
News regarding these upgrades will be advised per future website update notices .... and folks will also then be reminded to ensure they have these updated base packs with the new models installed.

You're welcome Trevor .... and everyone ! We hope you'll all enjoy our improved CONVAIR product. This one's been a particularly difficult project to complete .... especially in relation to the revised FD editing. In fact this whole upgrade might not ever have come to fruition at all had it not been for the efforts and determination of George CARTY. I'm sure there's been many times over the past several weeks both George and myself felt like stuffing this whole project in the bin .... "BLOODY CONVAIR's" .... but .... we got there in the end .... and hopefully a whole lot more closer to performance reality too "BIG THANKS" to both George CARTY, and Steve WEIHER. Mark C AKL/NZ

HI!
Many thanks to all for this BONUS!
Unfortunately there are some files missing from the "SOUND" and "PANEL" folders of both CV-990 (early) and CV-990A base packs. They are just empty folders.
Regards

STRANGE ! There should be default PANEL.CFG and SOUND.CFG files in each of those respective PANEL and SOUND folders. I'll get someone to take a look at this ASAP. In the meantime .... just "copy" a complete PANEL and SOUND folder from one of the CV880 base packs to both CV990 base pack files .... overwriting what's current there. That will at least give you an editable CFG file .... if needed at all. Sorry about this folks Thanks Ricardo ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Do we need a new model for the early CV-990 (without the Kuchemann carrots), or not?

The only major (most obvious) structural differences between CV990 EARLY, and modified CV990-A version aircraft were the wing slat configurations, and the # 1 and # 4 engine pylon shape .... because the engine nacelles were moved either back or forward to assist reducing drag. Some CV990-A's also had drag reducing bullet fairings applied to the tail pipe of each engine too. So .... there were differences between both versions ! At this time we're using the same 3D model to reprersent both aircraft versions (that's the best I can do at the moment), but, the FD data is most defintely different .... and quite accurate too. "IF" you're contemplating modifications to the current 3D model George then I am "INTERESTED" .... but .... need to clear things with Eric CANTU beforehand .... which shouldn't be a problem. In this case then "SEE ME" first please ! Thanks for amending those files Dan ! Mark C AKL/NZ

OK folks .... this's just a further update in relation to the new B707-320B & B707-320C S2HK (Stage 2 Hush-Kit) models.
Each of our existing texture sets which requiring these new S2HK models "IS" being upgraded and it's CFG data ammended .... in fact Ben has just informed me he's already completed all his end of this deal.
Revised texture sets will be reuploaded for each of these aircraft, but, this won't happen until next months website update .... so please .... don't go rushing off to downloads now expecting to find them now.
We will advise when everything's available .... and .... at that time folk will also be reminded to ensure they have the latest supporting models installed.
In the meantime we may tease the hell out of you all with some screenshots of existing texture sets applied to the new/correct models ;D
Thanks !
