Using FS2004 "Century of Flight" under XP pro and trying to install the 707-320C in several liveries, predominantly national flag carriers. Copied the B707-320C v7 base pack into the aircraft folder, then copied each different livery pack into the same folder, making sure I updated the base pack's aircraft.cfg file as instructed, using successive numbers, starting with 0 for Aer Lingus - I think I have about 8 liveries. No show when I open FS and look for the 707-320C. Obviously I'm doing something wrong but can't for the life of me work out what. Can anyone help?

is the model and sim parts in red match what you have, as in the past I have put some of my 320b textures into 320c basepacks and vice-versa (I think that's how it works) // Change "xx" to next number in sequence starting from 0 [fltsim.xx] already changed to-- [fltsim.0] title=HJG B707-320C BETA Air Cargo 2004 sim=B707-320C model=323C_S2HKpanel= sound= texture=beta_cargo_2004_323c_pp-brr kb_checklists= kb_reference= visual_damage=1 description=HJG Boeing 707-323C repaint by Michael VERLIN ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=707-320C ui_variation=BETA Cargo (2004) atc_id=PP-BRR atc_airline=BETA_AIR atc_flight_number=320 atc_heavy=0 atc_parking_codes=AAL atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP (if I'm wrong as in giving the the wrong info, I'm sure I'll be jumped on from a great height ;D ;D ;D )

"PETERJHUNTER" .... whatever you're doing wrong is likely to be associated with CFG file editing.
You need to check that the following critical ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG entries are correct ....
1. The first line [fltsim.xx] must be edited to start at "0" to appear as follows ....
[fltsim.0]
You must ensure each following [fltsim.xx] line in your complete CFG chain are then edited to appear in correct numerical sequence .... as follows ....
[fltsim.0] [fltsim.1] [fltsim.2] [fltsim.3] etc
If the first line is wrong then the aircraft won't appear in your FS Aircraft Selection Menu .... and nor will any other aircraft following it in your CFG [fltsim.xx] chain either. If an error is made further down this chain then all aircraft preceeding it will appear .... but .... not those listed after the error.
2. For B707-320C only .... all your SIM= CFG data should appear as follows ....
sim=B707-320C
You also need to ensure the MODEL= line in your CFG entries are correct for each aircraft texture you're installing .... and the TEXTURE= lines in your CFG entries are correct according to the texture folder names you're installing
All this # 2 data .... is contained within ADD TO AIRCRAFT data provided with each texture set .... and which then needs to be copied & pasted to the CFG file inside the aircraft Base pack .... and then edited as recommended in # 1 above.
By default this data should all be correct. Although errors have been comitted by us in the past these are extremly rare. You should not need to edit anything other than that single [fltsim.xx] CFG entry.
Be sure you're using only B707-320C textures with the B707-320C Aircraft Base Pack. Do not mix B707-320B (Early), B707-320B ADVC, B707-320C textures together because they're not interchangable .... the same also applies in respect of other B707/720 aircraft and textures too.

Thanks for doing that Bob ! You just beat me to the same task .... considering I'm currently working from the non-FS PC "PETERJHUNTER" .... kindly follow the above advice and Bob's example. If problems persist I want you to copy & paste "here" your entire AIRCRAFT CFG file .... in respect of its [fltsim.xx] entries only. Mark C AKL/NZ

I've looked for the obvious and all I can see that's different to my installation is this line you have .....
model=B707-320C
In mine I have several types but they look like this ....
model=S2HK model=323c model=
[fltsim.7] title=HJG B707-320C Millon Air 1988 sim=B707-320C model=S2HK panel= sound= texture=millon_air_1988_321c_n722gs kb_checklists= kb_reference= visual_damage=1 description=HJG Boeing 707-320C repaint by Camilo LUENGAS ui_manufacturer=Boeing - HJG ui_type=707-320C ui_variation=Millon Air (1988) atc_id=N722GS atc_airline=MILLON_AIR atc_flight_number=320 atc_heavy=0 atc_parking_codes=ALK atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
Have a look in your aircraft folder and check that the model folders names are listed in your aircraft cfg file.
Hope this helps.
Pete.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEP .... I believe it does .... but .... it also begs a lot more questions too. You appear to have deviated quite markedly from recommended installation procedures and edited certain CFG file entries that aren't in need of editing (unless you've changed the file names too .... which itself is unnecessary), and you also appear to be using non-standard conventions/names too .... any one of which might be the cause of your problems .... 1. In respect your following [fltsim.xx] CFG entries only .... [fltsim.0] [fltsim.1] [fltsim.3] [fltsim.4] [fltsim.5] [fltsim.6]Why have you renamed the MODEL= line to read "B707-320C" ? This is not an HJG convention name applied to any ADD TO AIRCRAFT data downloaded from this website. The correct model names are as follows .... model model.323c model.323C_S2HK model.HK3 model.S2HKWhich means the MODEL= lines in your CFG file should only read as follows .... Model= Model=323c Model=323C_S2HK Model=HK3 Model=S2HK"ADD TO AIRCRAFT" data provided within each texture download is already edited with the correct model data and in accordance with the models currently provided within our Aircraft Base Pack folders. There's really no need to change any of this ! Currently only your following [fltsim.xx] CFG entries appear to be reflect the correct MODEL= conventions/names [fltsim.2] [fltsim.7]2. In respect of all your PANEL= CFG entries ..... Why have these lines been edited to read "PANEL=323C" and "PANEL.B707-320C" ? Again .... this's not in accordance with recommended installation procedures. Remember .... all HJG B707-320C aircraft use either 1 of the following 4 panel options .... B707-320B/C "Adv" B707-320B/C "1970" B707-323C "AA config 1965" B707-323C "AA config 1970".... as clearly labeled on our 'BOEING PANELS" downloads page ! Their actual folder names are all as follows .... panel.b707-320badvc panel.b707-320badvc.1970 panel.b707-323c panel.b707-323c.1970Recommended installation procedures state these panels should all be installed in the FS9 "FSFSCONV" folder .... and the default MSFS B747-400 assigned PANEL.CFG file contained within each Aircraft Base Pack "PANEL" folder then edited with the appropriate panel file name ..... effectively aliasing these to the "FSFSCONV" folder. 3. This's probably the least significant issue here .... but .... Why have you edited the SOUND= CFG line to read "B707-320C" ? If you're using the soundpacks we supply "HERE" .... then each of these contains a folder named "SOUND" which should simply be installed inside your Aircraft Base Pack file and without any renaming .... to replace the default MSFS B747-400 assigned Sound folder. I don't want to appear to be chastising anyone by the manner of what I'm about to say because that's not my intention .... but .... all HJG files, by default, are organized into a very good system which we believe (and most certainly years of experience doing this has taught us) is easiest/best .... SO LONG AS FOLK FOLLOW PRESCRIBED INSTALLATION PROCEDURES TO THE LETTER We "WILL NOT" be changing that system. It's only when folk deviate from recommended procedures the margin for error and problems dramatically increases. "PERTERJHUNTER" .... If you're unable to resolve your current problem per above advisories then I want you to try reinstalling everything again .... but this time in strict accordance with our prescribed procedures .... and as per accompanying installation instructions. If you still run into problems .... then one of us will "TRY" to assist .... as is convenient for us to reply bearing in mind our realworld business commitments at this time Mark C AKL/NZ

Here's another texture I've just opened up, notice the model name in red is exactly as is in the base pack folder, so I have used 2 of the model folders (there are 5 model folders in there, which eventually with all the textures I have got, I will be using all the model folders,) just on these 2 textures, but they are still in the same base pack, do not change this as this is what is read, so it can read the proper texture IE matches texture with model but the previous texture I showed you has a different model file to read but it is still in the same base pack [fltsim.xx] // Change "xx" to next number in sequence starting from 0 title=HJG B707-320C HeavyLift Cargo 1992 sim=B707-320C model=S2HKpanel= sound= texture=heavylift_1992_324c_g-hevy kb_checklists= kb_reference= visual_damage=1 description=HJG Boeing 707-320C repaint by Tony MADGE ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=707-320C ui_variation=HeavyLift Cargo (1992) atc_id=G-HEVY atc_airline=HEAVY_LIFT atc_flight_number=320 atc_heavy=0 atc_parking_codes=ALK atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP [fltsim.xx] // Change "xx" to next number in sequence starting from 0 title=HJG B707-320C South African Airways 1978 sim=B707-320C model=leave this as it is, if it has no name next to it it is using the first model folder, check your base pack and you will see what I mean, ,panel= sound= texture=south_african_1978_344c_zs-sag kb_checklists= kb_reference= visual_damage=1 description=HJG Boeing 707-320C repaint by Michael VERLIN ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=707-320C ui_variation=South African Airways (1978) atc_id=ZS-SAG atc_airline=SOUTH_AFRICAN atc_flight_number=320 atc_heavy=0 atc_parking_codes=AAL atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP hope this hasn't confused you too much, but what I have done is each 707 aircraft basepack, I've put all the textures for that aircraft, as well as sound, panel, in a exclusive folder for that type to be opened later, knowing I have all the right base packs, textures, panels, and sounds, in the right place to make up my aircraft, to put on FS9 later, saves adding to confusion later (p.s to Admin, hope I haven't contradicted anything in what you have said, just hope I've helped a little more, )

Regrettably Bob, srill no further along. I kept copies of the base file and each livery in a directory completely separate from FS04 and have now overwritten the modified FS04 aircraft.cfg with that from the original download and copy & pasted the add-on for each livery ionto it, taking care to adjust the numbers starting with 0. Below is the whole setup of the file now in FS9\aircraft\HJG Boeing 707-320C v7\aircraft.cfg - but this still doesn't show when I open FS: -

I can't see anything wrong with your aircraft cfg now, but this may sound a bit of a funny question to ask and I only ask it because I've done it, but when you unzip it you have a yellow folder with the name HJG Boeing 707-320C v7, inside is another yellow folder with the same name, which I have placed in FS9 after putting the textures in without taking it out of the first folder, ie unzip folder/yellow folder/then another yellow folder/inside this folder is the basepack bits and pieces where your textures, go hope you can understand what I am trying to say, confused myself now

"PETERJHUNTER" .... your 2nd attempt at these CFG files appears correct now .... so far as I can quickly determine .... and bearing in mind how late it is here and the fact I'm dog tired too ! As Bob sais .... make sure you haven't got the B707-320C Aircraft Base Pack folder (or other valid folder) still contained within another containing folder from the original ZIP file. Valid folders inadvertently still contained within other containing folders from original ZIP files will also prevent aircraft from being recognized/displayed within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu. If I can jump in here while Mark is sleeping.. ;D "HJG offers 24 hour technical support.. mainly because we all live in time zones separated by 12 hours." Your flight_sim.2 is listing a model, while all the others are not... just a diference I note. Can I suggest, and I know it's a pain , is starting all over again, but let's try getting just one texture working, then adding others is easy. Delete everything previous for the 707 from your aircraft folder. Make a folder OUTSIDE of FS on your C drive and call it B707. Download the 320C base pack, unzip to the B707 folder. Now move the unzipped HJG Boeing 707-320C v7 folder to your aircraft folder in FS. Pick ONE texture for the 320C, download and unzip to your external B707 folder, say your Aer Lingus. The unzipped folder for Aer Lingus must now be opened and there will be a second folder whose name begins with texture.aer_lingus.... Put that texture folder in your HJG 707 folder inside the aircraft folder. Make the change to the cfg file using exactly the text that came with the Aer Lingus texture. I just copy and paste it directly into the cfg. Change the .xx to 0. Not done yet Download the panel file; I prefer the 320C ADV, but your choice. IMPORTANT: also download the Core Gauge files (the first download in the panel download window). Unzip these to your external B707 folder. Follow the intructions inside the panel folder. I usually make the change to the panel cfg before moving the panel folder. Make sure you put the panel folder in the fsconv folder as per the instructions. Move all the gauge files as per instructions to the FS Gauge folder. One more step: download the sound pack; in this case the JT3D-7. Unzip to your external B707 folder and open up the unzipped folder to find the folder called "sound". Simply replace the sound folder within your 707 aircraft folder with this new one as per instructions. That should do it. You should see the 707-320C come up with just one texture option. Mike

Mark, thanks, I understyand, I was up until about 2am this morning trying to work out what gioes where. Hope thay by now (about 12 noon Weds UK time) you're getting a good night's sleep of the righteous!! I remain confused. When I opened the original .zip files downloaded from the website (I prefer to download from the original source as far as possible) the base file had just one folder in it HJG Boeing 707-320C v7. Inside that are the various model folders, the panel and sound folders, the two .cfg files for FS9 and FSX, two Internet files, one file called B707-320C.air and the user license and installation instruction Notepad files. I drag/dropped this HJG Boeing 707-320C v7 folder direct into FS9\aircraft. Likewise, with the various liveries, on opening the downloaded.zip, I drag/dropped the single folder to FS9\aircraft and copy/pasted the .cfg modifications into the .cfg file in the base model folder using Notepad - and taking care to re-number the add-ons in sequence. Clearly I've got my knickers in a twist somewhere, and I'm not really sure where. Thx for all your time and efforts to assist gents.

OK.....let me see if I can offer anything here. 1st: You obviously can load FS9 and fly other aircraft, right? 2nd: Do those aircraft show up when you go to CREATE A FLIGHT? If the answer to both is a "Yes", then you indeed have messed up someplace. I just now downloaded the 707-320C with the Posts of Call texture and had no problems. Go to your Panel Folder and click on 'panel.cfg' and tell us what is typed in there. It should look like: "alias=fsfsconv\panel.b707-320" (without the quotes) BTW, how many files did you download NOT counting the texture files? Maybe you should start over and download just ONE livery and make sure that works and THEN download the other liveries you want. Let me know the answers you come up with regarding the above. Good luck.

Skyking: 1st: yes 2nd: yes Panel.cfg: [fltsim] alias=fsfsconv\panel.b707-320C\panel I also have no problems with other airliners and liveries, both payware on CD (Abacus's "Airbus Collector Edition") and several freeware downloads including BAC 1-11, DH106 Comet, HS121 Trident, Vickers VC10, all in a range of liveries and several Airbus liveries, mostly from Project Opensky. All of them work fine. I tried deleting the B707-320C base model and all its variants, then re-installing the base model and just one variant (PanAm 320C), but still no luck. I'm beginning to suspect the 707 just doesn't like me for some reason!
