I just discovered the Caravelle the other day. I am using the 6R with the United paint and panel. What an awesome plane. Good job guys!! I prefer the older systems that the Caravelle, DC-9, and B727's all had. To me they are much more fun to fly than the modern airliners. Not knocking what others like. But I would rather actually fly the old planes than sit there and monitor a computer the way the new pilots do. Good job!

Ahhh the ole days, when pilots actually flew the planes. Glad you are enjoying these, as I am also. And I agree HJG is an awesome group of people who do much for all of us to enjoy, and don't really get much applause! So Thank you everyone at HJG for all that you do for us out here! Falcon

That's why I'm here It's more fun to be involved with the plane. I do fly some newer planes like the A320, just for some fun routes from JetBlue. I also like the PMDG 474, but again I start with a cold&dark cockpit and work my way through it. The pilot who monitors a computer can have real world consequences like the Air France crash where it's basically been determined that the flight crew was so used to having the computers take care of everything they couldn't recognize the approaching stall, and much less fly their way out of it. They've only been roosting here at HJG since 2010 .... I think it was "THANKS" for the kind sentiments guys .... but .... in respect of these CARAVELLE simulations at least .... it's AFG/ALLIED FLIGHT GROUP (Esa and Ari KAIHLANEN, and Benoit GAURANT, in particular) whom must be credited "first and foremost" for each of these superb simulations. HJG only host the CARAVELLE "by consent" .... although Mike MONCE, and myself, did fine tune the original FDE for HJG and which makes these AFG simulations (hosted by HJG) "a little different" from those versions originally released (by AFG) at both AVSSIM and FLIGHTSIM.COM. Those whom are "new" to the CARAVELLE might well be advantaged by my following "CARAVELLE PANEL INSYALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting of this CARAVELLE SUPPORT forum page .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/2939/caravelle-panel-installation-handling-notesThe original panel manuals, by Benoit GAURANT, are included wthin each panel download, but, some folk have, in the past, reported difficulties in regrd to be able to understanding these (it must be appreciated that English is not Benoit's native language), and which is what prompted me to "re-write" these for HJG use .... as is provided per the above link My guides are intended to be the "official HJG online/forum based manual" for these CARAVELLE simulations and do cover almost everthing that needs to be understood in order to enjoy/get the very greatest satisfaction out of using these "ABSOLUTELY SPLENDID" simulations. I know the Caravelle has been here a while Mark. I was just so happy with HJG's B727-100/200 as well as the DC9-30 I never looked at it. But I was looking for another "old" airliner to fly and found the Caravelle. It's awesome. I have read all of the documentation but find I am still learning new things about the plane each time I fly her. And I too find the Caravelle one of the easiest planes to hand fly. Great job to everyone involved in giving us this aircraft
