Textures/Airline liveries .... be these new releases or upgrades .... make up for a large part of what HJG does for FS, but, isn't all we ever represent.
HJG is equally committted to FDE, panel/gauge, sounds, and effects development for its entire flightline .... and then redevelopment/improvment of some of this product too .... as and when it can
This policy of upgrading and improvement has be very true recently in regard to the HJG hosted VISTALINERS L1011 TRISTAR simulations.
During April of this year .... and thanks entirely to the efforts of George CARTY .... we released a significant upgrade for each of our L1011 TRISTAR simulations.
This particular upgrade saw each of these aircraft panels outfitted with a much more advanced/sophisticated and multi-mode capable AP system .... equipped with a "HANDS OFF" auto-land function with the ability to actually flare, and then land, each of these simulations automatically .... along with new CWS, and both IAS and VS climb/descent pitch modes also .... among other more subtle panel/guage and FDE related improvements.
In fact the improvements George compiled into these simulations earlier this year make for a simulations that's "about as close as we/HJG can get" to representing the real thing .... within the very finite limitations of the MSFS host program of course
As I implied at the very start of this posting .... HJG remains committed to product improvement in regard to everything it produces and hosts on this website .... AND .... I'm pleased to be able inform everyone .... that in accordance with this policy George CARTY has been able to yet "further fine-tune" the HJG hosted L1011 panels/FDE .... AND .... as a result of his latest efforts .... HJG, in the very near future, plans to re-release each of its L1011 Aircraft Base Packs (FDE's really) and Gauges/Core Files packages (there will be "no need" to re-release any of the current 4 panel files for each of these simulations though since the new FDE and Gauges/Core Files revisions will do all the necessary work) .... featuring the following improvements ....
Here's what each of the 2 basic L1011 panel configurations will look like once these latest upgrades are released. PLEASE NOTE .... some of the improvements (listed above) are clearly evident in the following images where-as others aren't so readily distinguishable through these being primarily "functionality related" modifications ....
PLEASE NOTE ALSO .... these latest upgrades are "NOT YET" publicly available .... SO PLEASE .... don't go rushing off to re-download the L1011 TRISTAR Aircraft Base Packs and Gauges/Core file components in the hope of benefitting from what's discussed within this PR advisory
WE WILL INFORM EVERYONE .... as soon as these latest/modified file versions become publicly available.
In the meantime ....
I want to thank George CARTY for his continued efforts with panel, gauges, FDE, development (since all of these aspects of FS are actually inter-related) and general product improvement for HJG.
Nearly all of the curent aircraft panel range .... and most of the aircraft base packs (FDE) currently offered by HJG also .... reflect, or have otherwise benefitted from, the extraordinary programming skills/talents of George CARTY.
I think it's one thing for any FS group to be able to offer a panel/gauge set that's suitable for use with any particular aircraft simulation .... BUT .... I think it's something else entirely different to be able to incorporate the degree of systems and performance fidelity into any such production and which many of the current HJG hosted panels/gauges and FDE files do currently display .... "THANKS ENTIRELY TO GEORGE CARTY"
I often feel it's George's efforts and skills that are largely responsible for helping transform HJG into what it is today .... within this "virtual aviation" hobby
I think the following list of very successl/well respected HJG hosted products .... which George has either produced entirely himself or has more than significantly contributed his programming skills toward .... a speak accordingly of this ....

3. Paul HAAK .... HJG's AI project modeller and representative.
4. All of HJG's artists/painters (both past and present) whom have beautifully, and successfully, represented litterally hundreds (if not thousands by now) of past and present airline/operator liveries for everyones free FS enjoyment.
5. AND FINALLY .... but by no means least of all .... Tony MADGE (HJG's CEO) and Dan K.HANSEN (HJG's Webmaster) whom both help "hold it all together" and/or "get it all up" (HJG product-wise ) for us all and for the pleasure the HJG FS community.
"THANKS" .... to each one of you .... and to those, both inside and outside of HJG, whom are currently working with me on various new projects and upgrades .... and also to all our community members as well whom (apart from the odd irritant here'n'there ) do provide the necessary motivation for us all to "want to continue" with what we all try to achieve at HJG
We probably can't please everyone completely .... BUT .... we "sure as hell" do like to try our best to do so

*Autopilot annunciator fixed so that auto-landing "ALIGN" replaces the "LOC" indication when below 200 feet AGL.
*Autopilot functionality changed so that pressing keyboard command "Z" with the autopilot in CMD mode will switch the autopilot to "OFF" and not "CWS" mode.
*Fixes to bugs in the CWS autopilot mode (bank angle limiting should now work correctly)
*Barber pole removed from standby airspeed indicator
*Mechanical rather than electronic digital readouts on the main airspeed indicator (but IAS KTS readout retained) with larger numbers displayed on the main altimeter gauge face.
*Improved failure modes for the instruments (but standby instruments never fail, so that failure modes can be used to practice flying on standby gauges)
*when auto-landing the AT will remain engaged until after touchdown (this does not impair prompt reverse thrust action upon landing) and then auto-disengages, along with the AP also, when descelerating below 80 KTS during roll-out after landing, and with the AFSC Warning Annunciator then displaying both "AP DISC" and "AT DISC" indications along with an audible alarm and flashing "ALERT" indication.
*An authentic 1970's L1011 type AP based altitude alert tone with it's distinctive "C-chord chime" has also now be added to each of these simulations.
