Hermans link will take one "directly to" the B727 texture inventory .... and upon doing so all one then needs to do is "as follows" .... 1. Scroll down to the "B727-200" texture listings provided (only our B727-200's have been updated so far .... the new -100's are nhot yet released) 2. Scroll down through these listing lesting to the precise B727-200 aircraft type listing. 3. located the "airline livery" one wishes to install .... in accordance with its "period date". 4. Note the recommended "aircraft base pack/engine type" version .... AND .... recommended 3D "model name" .... listed beside each airline livery subject. Simply apply the intened B727-200 texture to the recommended B727-200 aircraft base pack/engine type version .... THEN .... edit the recommended model name to the MODEL= line of the FLISIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT CFG data .... and save that edit. All "quite easy" .... once understood if one's still uncertain as to what to do .... THEN .... state the texture ones intending to install .... and I'll be happy to tell one "preisely what to do" (FS2004 installastions only .... I can't asist in regard to FSX I'm sorry) .... even to the extent of preparing an edited FLTSIM.XX data section for the intended texture/s .... if necessary Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi: As ever a simple question can damand a not so simple answer: In this case one should know also which airplane one wants to simulate. Example: B 727s of MEXICANA which was for some time the biggest user of 727 s outside the USA: One has to dig a little into the history of MEXICANA, as they used 100s 200s and 264As. To make it still more complicated the 200s were used with different engines. tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7821/which-engines-special-eastern-727sKind regards Walter

As can be seen per the data quoted below .... in the case of MEXICANA (and I don't know if any of this relates specifically to his query .... since he/"METROWESTFLYER" hasn't, yet, come back to us) .... and more particularly "the specific MEXICANA B727-200 registrations that we/HJG represent", I have stipulated "precisely which aircraft base pack-engine type version each texture should be applied to, and which particular 3D model should assigned to each texture also .... as follows .... There may have been some D-17R powered aircraft among the MEXICANA B727-200 ADV fleet, but, as yet, we don't provide a D-17R specific aircraft base pack (the engine thrust difference is very minimal anyway) .... SO .... our standard JT8D-17 offering is "QUITE SATISFACTORY" for what we offer The B727-100's are still being updated and certified for re-release, so, the aircraft base pack-engine type versions for these have not, yet, been stipulated .... since it "IS NOT", at this stage, necessary to do so. In the case of the MEXICANA B727-100 textures we/HJG currently provide .... JT8D-7 and -7B engine types are applicable, but, these will be corrected/rationalised to just the D-7 among these specific textures since there's no thrust difference between either the -7 or -7B engine marques. The texture/aircraft base pack-engine type/3D model system we (have had to) employ is an "imperfect system" .... I realise that .... BUT .... as explained "HERE" (see my explanatory notes following the website update announcement) .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7818/website-update-october-28th-2015.... it's the best (only) system that could be easily employed "under the circumstances". Again .... I'm quite happy to assist anyone whom doesn't understand .... on the basis of their first advising "precisely what textures" they're intending to install .... and provided they fit in with my own forum availability too of course. Can't really do more than that Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark: Exactly what I wanted to comment on Metrowestflyers post: A simple question demands much more than a simple answer. To complicate it more MEXICANA had also JATO (small jets for emergencies at Take Off) installed in their 727-200 with the JTD8-7 engines. www.tailsthroughtime.com/2010/04/ive-always-had-soft-spot-for-boeing-727.htmlwww.youtube.com/watch?v=G7LErwBNobUKind regards Walter P.S.: For FS 9 one can live and take off happily without that devices as nobody will care to simulate an engine failure at 30 deg C at MMMX with full house and full tanks. Besides that you would need the original take off tables. If you want to fly that exercise take the B 727 200 ADV with JTD8-17 engines!

We "may" be looking at the JATO B727-200 too, but, that'd also require and additional .... and totally different .... soundpack again "NO PROMISES" though .... we'll just "see what develops" Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark: Its quite an old thread, but as I "fly" now the 727-64 of Mexicana XA-SEJ the bird is HJG "registered" under the late version and with the LATE base pack i.e. has the JTD-8-9 (14500 pds) and not the JTD-8-7B (14000 pds). I am using the late version and the late 100 panel also according the HJG definitions. Dont think there is a big difference in flight-dynamics for FS. It came only to my attention checking the crashes of MX 704 and MX 801. Kind regards Walter P.S. but I will try to fly XA-SEL with the early base pack and panel, lets see if there is a difference. First impression: It is a little easier to fly as always happens in FS: Same airplane with less power is easier to handle. But praise to HJG: The reaction at "getting behind the power curve" is as described by real 727 pilots: Correct with a lot of power and hopefully you have no more than flaps 30 selected.

No point in making any such comparisons at this time Walter .... simply because "NONE" of the B727-100´s have undergone any FDE reviews since they were first released back in 2008.
As has already been applied to the B727-200´s .... FDE revisions "ARE" planned for the -100´s too .... but .... these won´t be released until the new B727-100 models are first sorted.
The problem (for me) is I just don´t have time at the moment due to other project priorities.
The FDE which was released for our B727-100´s back in 2008 represented the best we knew how to do back then, but, benefitting from what we know now how tp do a number of "corrections/improvements" are planned for future re-release.
Having aaid all this .... there will, hopefully, be some B727-200 panel and gauge revisions (planned since April) that will be released before the end of this year though.
And your "dead right" about the power curve .... get behind that and a lethal/"deadly" sink rate can be induced but which can´t easily be arrested by emergency or go-around power. It´s the "deep stall" phenomenon .... which aircraft of a T-configuration, like the B727 and HS TRIDENT, were particularly succeptable to "IF" power/airspeed and flaps/slats weren´t managed properly .... and which became a fundamental cause of some of the MEXICANA B727-100 accidents of the mid 1960´s .... and even the BEA TRIDENT accident (among others possibly contributing factors too) of 1972.

Hi Mark:
I did not try to rush you into more work, all I wanted to say:
Maybe the MEXICANA 727-64 would be better off under "727-100 EARLY" as they did not have the JTD 8-9s but only the JTD 8-7 subtype "B", never saw an explanation how the Bs were different from the plain 7s.
Kind regards
Walter

No problem Walter .... I never interpeted it as a hurry up This´s one .... "among a number of other details too" .... that the new B727-100 aircraft base packs will eventually "correct" .... post release There´s no difference between the JT8D-7 and -7B .... at least not in regard to what can be replicated within FS. See the PM I´ve sent you Mark C BOG/CO
