I know I'm doing something very wrong here, followed all the steps (wrongly), but can't get the 721 Convertable/Frieghter to show in FSX, I'll be glad to send a zip file of my installation to whoever would help

Hi JYMP, might sound a daft question but have you installed the base model then added the textures for the one you want to use? Also have you then added the information onto the aircraft.cfg file from the "add to aircraft" doc? If you have then can you tell us what base model and texture your trying to install
Thanks Tony

B721's "as yet" don't require MODEL info being added to the their FLIGHTSIM.XX data .... this only applies to the the B722's so far.
"JYMP" .... need to know precisely which B721 texture you're trying to install .... livery and date plus aircraft registration. This's for us to check the texture and assure ourselves it's not composed of any errors we've made .... such is rare but it can happen.
ALSO ....
If your FSX then (and assuming you're "not" using the HJG B727 panels or sound packs .... the panels "ARE" FSX portable and FSX specific sound packs are offered by us) you'll need to edit the PANEL and SOUND CFG's to read precisely as follows ....
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\panel
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\sound
If these edits aren't correct .... then FSX simply will not recognize and display the simulation.
You also need to be sure you've activated the FSX specific AIRCRAFT.CFG too .... it's names AIRCRAFT_CFS but is supplied as named to avoid it's conflicting with the default FS2004 file. It needs being renamed "AIRCRAFT" or "AIRCRAFT.CFG" in accordance with file naming conventions on your PC/FS installation
By far the majority of reported FSX issues are on account of the above.
The B727's, and their customized panels "ARE" FSX portable .... and again we do also offer "FSX specific" sound packs for these simulations as well.
One step at a time though.
Get back to us please with the required texture information .... and check those PANEL and SOUND CFG edits.

Possibly .... but .... "out of prudence" we'll check that texture anyway as we always do following reports of any anomalies/difficulties.
Got "A BIT ON" here this morning o it'll be later today (at the soonest) before I can check it
Have you attended to what I advised in regard to checking, and if necessary editing, the CFG files in both the default PANEL and SOUND folders ?
90% of all FSX issues are actually in regard to this minor detail .... as stated above.

Also check that your CFG based FLTSIM/XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT entries each appear in precise numerical order too It's another comming error I had a look at the Texture .... "PIEDMONT 1967 N7270C". It's basically configured correctly (there's no errors with it), but, the way in which some of its FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data's compiled (this file having been compiled many years ago) isn't the way in we do so now based on experience accumulated over the years. In the event you have "a number of different textures" installed in the same base pack, then, this could create a situation (which has been reported here before .... and been resolved) where if certain FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data lines vary too much with any CFG then FS2004, and FSX, are sometimes confused/unable to recognize and display certain texture additions .... as was indeed the case in regard to the following-linked B737-300 thread (see my JUN 21 2018 reply in particular) .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9097/boeing-737-300-passenger-textures"IF" I'm right then tt's not an error. It's just the result of sensitivities in regard to "some" (not all) FS installations on some systems. What I'm hinting at here is "A LONG SHOT" .... but .... it's "a possibility". If your not able to resolve this issue on the basis of what I've advised above .... then .... I want you to COPY & PASTE the entire "FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT" section (only .... not the entire bloody CFG please ) from your B727-100C and post that "HERE" so I can then see precisely what you've got, how it's all rigged, and maybe then advise accordingly. Ok I’m using the HJG panel and sound (Thought I had to use them) my panel.cig is [fltsim] alias=fsfsconv\panel.b727-100_late_jt8d-9_v2. The sound.cig is [FLTSIM] product_code=FSIM. If there is a simpler way without using the HJG panel and sound I’m all for it, the simpler the better

If you've only got the "one only" PIEDMONT B727 texture installed then my above-communicated "hunch" won't be applicable. What I communicated there is only be applicable in the case of multiple texture installations. Before now though .... I can't see what yuu've got ....obviously ... so .... all bets were hen on the table.
You "should" use them (both panel and Sound) ... if you want a decent B727 experience in FS. Your issues prior to now/your attempted reinstall may/ possibly be the case of your not correctly installing and configuring the Panel and/or Sound. FSX is sensitive in regard to these protocols. Make the smallest error .... and FSX simply won't recognize and display the installation.
Suggest we try to get your B721C installed "in ut's basic configuration" .... MEANING .... with the "PIEDMONT" texture and both default FS Panel and Sound, but, in this case and for starters you still need to ensure the following ....
1. If you're an FSX user then dump the AIRCRAFT.CFG named folder (that's FS2004 only data).
2. Identify the AIRCRAFT)_ FSX CfG folder .... and rename it either "AIRCRAFT" or "AIRCRAFT.CFG" in accordance with the file naming protocols applicable to your computer/FA installation.
3. Open the default PANEL.CFG .... and edit its data to read precisely as follows ....
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\panel
4. Open the default PANEL.CFG .... and edit its data to read precisely as follows ....
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\sound
Don't apply any other edits beyond what's being recommended above. Provided the above 4 steps are each followed "to the letter" .... then there's no logical reason why FSX shouldn't recognize and display your B727-100C.

Success, aircraft shows in FSX now, I got all the .cfg files squared away, do see what you mean about needing the HJG panel and sound though. thanks for the help, much appreciated
