What I'm about to relate dates back some 25 years (a very long time ago in the chronology of FS development .... I know), but even so, the best FS ATC I ever experienced was the PROFLIGHT 98 ATC & ADVENTURE PLANNER by AETI. It was customized for FS98 .... but it did (I understand) transition to FS2000 and FS2002 also .... but I'm not sure it ever transitioned into FS2004. Again this's all "a very long way back down the RWY of FS time and add-on product development by aftermarket producers". PROFLIGHT 98 was an FS ATC adventure compiler/generator. One could load the route they intended to fly (effectively filing a flight plan) .... and the program would then automatically generate all of the appropriate and random ATC dialogue for the intended flight .... from departure and all the way to destination .... and in accordance with the nationality/language accents one would expect to hear along any such route. For example .... flying from Miami down into Colombia the ATC accents would initially start out in a "gard day-em US/American twang" and by the time one was well out over the Caribbean, and after a US ATC hand-over, the ATC then slowly transitioned into Spanish accents .... and becoming more casual too across remote regions of the Caribbean .... until approaching major cities like Bogota, Cali, and Medellin etc where those accents then started becoming decidedly more professional in tone. By the same measure .... departing anywhere from the UK and heading into either Scottish or Irish airspace, the ATC then became distinctly and appropriately Scottish (Sko-ish) and Irish (Oy-rish) accented. Again from the UK the controller dialogue would start out as "jolly gude aulde toffy-nose English/Pommy accents" .... then as one neared/entered French airspace "les controluers spoke avec une distinct accent Francaise" .... then on into German airspace "veer der kontrolers spreken mit der Duetchen accent" ;D .... and finally .... by the time one got way over into Italian airspace "these-a cotroladoros is-a talking wit-a accento Italiano The same applied also in respect of ATC pilot voices too. One could similarly select a pilot voice/accent in accordance with ones personal preferences (most major language accents from all around the word being represented within the program) and with which to acknowledge ATC instructions. The ATC and pilot audio were both "vaguely robotic", but, were otherwise excellent "for the time" and really ground breaking stuff around this period in regard to FS adventures etc. Another beauty of the program is that upon filing a flight plan for any route no two flights were ever the same in terms of ATC instruction or departures and arrivals. The program even featured random or manual weather generation options well. it was a great add-on .... "FOR THE TIME"I lost it (by default) upon transitioning to FS2004 and never did find anything that was the "equivalent of it". Nothing else I considered was as comprehensive or all-encompassing as the PROFLIGHGT product. Every other option I explored lacked something that PROFLIGHT had by default .... consequently I've never flown with FS ATC or adventure generation since around 2004/5. Again .... this's all just "a casual stroll down FS Memory Lane" .... prompted by "VDO" MSFS 2020 real ATC reference above. Mark C AKL/NZ

Good news on this front Mark, Proflight has been morphed into PF3. It still has all the functionality you mention in your reply, plus so much more (I’m starting to sound like a TV commercial 🫢😝).
It works with FS2004, FSX, FSX-SE, P3d v1-6, Microsoft FS2020 and with a plugin from Simmarket, X-Plane 11. I love it and use it exclusively. Constantly updated (last update was March 2024) and constantly evolving.
I find it easy enough to use as long as you “RTFM” and love that it simulates (reasonably) Oceanic procedures with a SELCAL simulation.
SID’s, STARS’s or Vectoring, IFR or VFR and as you mentioned, different accents dependant upon where you are flying in the world.
Cheers and hope you are have great weekend,
Nathan

What Nathan's located seems to be a relaunch (for want of a term) of the PF project I was talking about earlier though this version may have additional features .... I just don't know.
An advantage I think is its apparent compatibility with FS2004 and FSX .... and which is what HJG's based on of course.
Review the PF3 demo's on YOUTUBE Herman and see what you think. MSFS users are probably best encouraged to await the real ATC option ... hopefully in the form of a later still version that doesn't require a monthly subscription. Think "VDO's" keeping a finger on the pulse in regard to this.
