Great job! I especially like the USAir livery, as I used to use them whenever I needed to fly anywhere.
Slightly OT, but any recommendations for panels and sounds to use with these?

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your kind words.
Tony: This is on the Kittyhawk model. I may do some of these repaints on the Tinmouse model with Mike's FDE adapted for it. Yep, you can simply copy the livery section of your repaint into the new "aircraft.cfg" and then install the various effects and gauges etc.
"tarasdad": Panel, I would suggest Richard Probst (Tinmouse) and sound I still mostly use the one done by Daniel R. Careri many years ago. The panel can be found at Flightsim and Simviation and the sound pack can be found at Avsim and Flightsim.
All the best,
Philip.

Thank you very much, Philip. I've been waiting patiently for this! They look beautiful. I've been using your last FDE update for a while so I'm curious to see how it could have been improved ;D. The Air Namibia and Safair repaints are an unexpected bonus - it feels like Christmas!
tarasdad - following up on Philip's panel recommendation, the Tinmouse II project offers a superbly detailed panel with soundset included. It has just been updated to v1.1 and this is the Avsim file name: tinmouse2_b732_v1_1.zip

Are the Kittyhawk model and Tinmouse different then? I thought they used Eric's 737?

Are the Kittyhawk model and Tinmouse different then? I thought they used Eric's 737? Hi Tony. The official "tinmouse" 737-200 is the Flight 1/Terry Gaff model. But the panel comes with an alternative config file to suit the Cantu/Kittyhawk. The original Tinmouse panel (v1) came with the aircraft included, but with v1.1 the aircraft are now a separate download and you just get the panel and sounds. I use the Cantu/Kittyhawk model with Philip's/Mike Baumann's improved FDE instead of the one provided by tinmouse and the panel works perfectly with it. If I remember right the only alterations I had to make to the config file were to the radio section and to point each texture to the differently named air file. With Philip's new metrojet it looks like the FDE is further improved. Ian

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your kind words, glad you like them.
Tony: The Tinmouse model is different, it was actually suppose to be a Flight1 release or something to that extent. It is quite nice and has lots of eye candy, 3D cabin windows and so on, but IMO (and a lot of people will agree with me) it is not as accurate as the Kittyhawk model overall. The FDE also seemed a bit strange to me when I first tried it. Their version of Richard's panel seemed to also have some issues which they have probably fixed now. The included sound pack is alright, but I still prefer the old one by Daniel R. Careri. Erick Cantu also released a sound pack for the Kittyhawk model which is also a very good option. Between both of them they sound more like the real thing and are able to reproduce the almost deafening scream of these engines.
Best regards,
Philip.

Thanks for the info, guys. With the sheer proliferation of "best" panels for the 737 series it's hard to figure out which one to use. So far all the ones I've tried are less than optimal. Then again, I find the panel in the Project Tupolev Tu-154B to be getting closer to what I want, but still a little shy of the mark. Maybe it's just my gadget-freak side showing or something...

tarasdad - I know I'm starting to sound a bit evangelistic over the tinmouse panel ;D - I really have nothing to do with the project - except that I love flying it If you like gadgets it could be the one for you. Have a look over on the CBFS forum where I posted some screenshots a while back. Could save you downloading unnecessarily. www.cbfsim.org/cbfsimv5/cbfsbb/viewtopic.php?t=6696&start=15Ian

Hi guys,
I was playing around with the Tinmouse plane last night and although I still prefer the Kittyhawk model in terms of being accurately shaped, I like the Tinmouse model too. I have already plugged Mike's FDE into it and after a few tweaks here and there it seems to work really well. The FDE performs exactly as it does on the Kittyhawk model as does the contact points which had to be adjusted for this model. If I paint some liveries for this I would like to see if I can release them with this FDE mod. I would have to first get permission from Mike Baumann and then also Tinmouse.
All the best,
Philip.

Hi Philip. I've also been doing some circuits using the tinmouse panel with your MetroJet and have also put your older flysaa.com texture in the Metrojet folder with the new FDE. If there's not much difference between the models, I'll stick with the kittyhawk over the tinmouse. I wondered how you could improve on your previous tweaks, but I have to say, I love the new effects! The touchdown is incredibly realistic and the smoke effects seem just right. The tip vortices are subtle and effective. Well done and thank you. I'm very impressed ;D EDIT: Two small points. By changing the panel.cfg file to allow the vortex effects it seems to have de-activated a light switch on the OH in the tinmouse panel. The one simply marked 'wing'. It also seems to have de-activated the taxi lights, though not the switches. They work fine if I take the vortex entries out of the panel.cfg file. I just thought I'd mention it as you're here ;D The other point is that you don't mention in your readme that the smoke is toggled using the 'i' key. I knew because I use David Maltby's aircraft, but you may be subjected to emails from people who don't know. Thanks again for all your work. I'm off to Windhoek now to try out the Air Namibia a/c Thanks again, Ian
