Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Eastern Airlines (USA) was the first airline to operate the 727. I know a lot of pilots liked the airplane, but I always felt the engines belonged on the wing !!

I think you're right "SKYKING" .... and I think it also appeared in EA's "Golden Falcon/Fly Eastern Golden Falcon" scheme too .... or am I confusing it with B720 On the subject of liveries .... imagine the fun you could have painting these aircraft in BRANIFF liveries The fact that wing was "clean" is just one of the things which promoted the B727's becoming so successful .... with a wing full of high lift/drag devices which didn't suffer the drag imposed by leading edge mounted engine pylons such as those of B707/720, CV880/990, & DC8 aircraft. Vistaliners B727-100, they only released it in Beta format and never released a paintkit, managed to make one up myself. The aircraft itself flies very well with the nice lag before the power comes in, which makes you think ahead a bit more on approach The FDE has been downscaled from there 200 to suit the 100 but its airfile is still listed as the 200adv but a minor name change required thats all. I am working on TWA at the moment I have the twin globe almost done, next is the later version, then maybe United followed by Pan Am....maybe...
