I am new to this forum. I like these A/C because they bring back memories of the early days. I use to have this A/C installed when I had Vista OS, I had to format my hard drive while at it I had them install Win 7. I copied the file folder like I use to within FS9 Aircraft folder. Now when I start FS9 the A/C does not appear in my list. Has anyone ever encounter this before. I read the forum but could not see this issue. I look forward from hearing from you Flight Simmers. Thanks,

There's no known problems associated with the running any of these aircraft in FS9 and within a WINDOWS 7 environment .... I can confirm this personally If your aircraft folders are correctly installed into the FS9 "AIRCRAFT" folder .... but .... your aircraft is not then appearing within the FS9 Aircraft Selection Menu then it's highly likely you made some error in respect of the AIRCRAFT.CFG/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data .... most likely in respect of transferring the ADD TO AIRCRAFT/FLTSIM data to the CFG file. 1. Check that you are using you aircraft textures with the correct aircraft base pack. 2. Check that that you've edited the first FLTSIM.XX data line to read FLTSIM.0 .... then so on an so forth (as follows) if you are adding more than 1 textures to the same aircraft base pack .... FLTSIM.1 FLTSIM.2 FLTSIM.3 3. Check that your actual aircraft texture folder name/s agree with what's stated in the AIRCRAFT.CFG TEXTURE= data line. If using the HJG/PROBST/CARTY B727 panels .... ensure that all of the contents of these files have been installed with the correct FS destination folders .... and that the PANEL.CFG file within the default panel folder inside your aircraft base pack/s has been correctly edited precisely in accordance with the recommended installation procedures 4. Check that you haven't still got the valid aircraft base pack folder, or texture folder, still contained within a holding container/folder from the original ZIP file. If you're sure all of this has been done correctly .... but .... your still not having any luck with display and loading of these aircraft into FS .... then I'd like you to copy and paste (below) just the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data from your AIRCRAFT.CFG so I can see precisely what you've got/done .... and can maybe advise accordingly. 9 times out of 10 times .... "NO SHOWS" with FS are all due to FLTSIM.XX data misconfiguration. Mark C AKL/NZ

As someone who ported over to W7 earlier this year, I did find for some aircraft just doing a copy of the folder is not good enough. I would suggest downloading the plane again and doing a compete fresh reinstall. A bit of a pain, but HJG planes aren't that difficult to install, especially after doing 50 or so ;D W7, I've found, to be an exceptional OS, and runs FS9 and HJG planes without any glitches. Mike

Thanks for your input. I made some screen prints to show you what I did. Also reading Mike's suggestion I am confused do you mean reinstall OS or Aircraft? Right now I am trying to install the base then do repaints. I thought I figured out my problem but I didn't as I started FS9 and still wasn't there. Again when I had Vista I had no problems with HJG aircrafts, I like them as they are old school. Again thanks I look forward to hearing from you in hopes of getting this resolved.

There's your problem .... Have a look at the very first line of the ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data ! Look closely at the FLTSIM.0 data line ! Your completely missing the right facing square bracket which should be located at the left of the FLTSIM.0 data line Your data currently looks like this .... note the missing right facing square bracket fltsim.0] .... whereas it should look like this/as follows .... note both left and right facing square brackests around this data line .... [fltsim.0]Add the missing square bracket ob the left .... and all should appear fine "as-is". I'd say you've inadvertently "chopped" that bracket during you copy & paste to the CFG file Mark C AKL/NZ

No, I don't think that's the problem. It seems like the right-facing square bracket of [fltsim.0] is not missing, but off the left side of the screen. Look at the other lines...

Thanks George, Mark and Mike I looked at the CFG file and it was right, it was when I cropped for the forum that I cut out the left side. Now could this be a situation. When I had to format my hard drive recently I had them install upgraded version of Win 7. Since doing that I have had some issues when installing A/C and occasional repaints not always just sometimes. I don't believe that should be the issue but just wondering. As I had no problems again with Vista. I have been downloading & repaints for some 5-6 years ever since I had XP pro. But everytime I had to have a new OS there never the same but this time it is really confusing me. Again thanks for the input. I look forward from anyone that responds & will try all of them.

Heavens no... don't do a reinstall of the OS! What I meant was to delete out completely your current B727 plane. Download all the relevant files from HJG, and then carefully do a reinstall. If windows asks if you want to overwrite some files, especially gauges, say "yes".

Thanks mike for your response. Just to let you know I did not reinstall my OS. I just did not understand. I did a complete delete of the A/C, and reinstalled it. I still cannot get it up and running. I am confused still. I wish I had someone near by me that new what to do, but I don't. I have to rely on Forums when I wish I didn't have to. But you guy's are pretty good at helping out. I noticed that there are no gauges inside the folder should there be? (see print screen attached). I don't remember having to add repaints but that was awhile ago (2 yrs)pre Win 7, I even tried putting repaints info inside CFG, but that did nothing. I keep trying eveything on my own plus all the responses. This is the base model. Again thanks for all the help. Best regards.

Could you tell me what is in your model, panel and sound folders, plus the contents of any file in those folders with a .cfg extension?

disable "user account control" and set FS9 to "run as administrator"

OK .... "GOT IT NOW" .... I think ! ;D In my haste to reply late last night (tired as I was after fiddling with an F27 .... "REALWORLD" .... all day yesterday) I noticed what I thought was a missing bracket, but, failed to notice the following more relevent details .... I note you have a B727-100 Aircraft (early) Base Pack .... confirmed by the following header which appears at the top of the CFG file .... //727-100 EARLY //FS2004 //Add your [fltsim.xx] sections here. //Remember to start with 0 (zero). //Copyright Historic Jetliners Group. No uploading to any website without prior approval. //April 2009And also confirmed by the follwing AIR.FILE name inside your base pack .... B727100_VL.airHOWEVER .... the texture you appear to be trying to install is for a a "B727-200 ADVC".You're obviously trying to install this texture into the wrong aircraft base pack .... and FS can't display your B727 because of the mismatched data You must use that particular AMERICAN AIRLINES texture inside the "B727-200 ADVANCED" aircraft base pack only.Download the "B727-200 ADVC" specific aircraft base pack from our B727-200 downloads page .... and apply your currect FLTSIM data to it, along with that particular AMERICAN texture too .... and everything should then be as good as gold ! All B727 type aircraft are grouped into seperate sections on their respective B727-100 and B727-200 downloads pages. The aircraft base packs are always located at the top of each individual aircraft group .... beneath the aircraft type name/title .... with all of the textures for that particular aircraft type then being listed below this. It is essential to ensure these, and all of our textures, are mated with the correct aircraft base pack/s .... or .... "NO SHOWS" within FS, and other aircraft performance problems "WILL" occur. FYI .... use the B727-200 ADVC panel with this aircraft base pack .... and .... use the B727 JT8D LATE sound pack with it too. Panel and aircraft base pack matching is as equally important as texture/model aircraft base pack matching. If you're still not sure what goes with what .... then please refer to my following B727 SERVICE/HANDLING NOTES .... B727 PANELS INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTEStonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=2382B727 - WHAT PANEL WHICH PLANE ?tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=2797B727 - WHAT SOUND WHICH PLANE ?tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=2796All of these service notes, and others too, are located on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT"forum page .... I've not had time recently to transfer everything across to their desirable/respective aircraft type SUPPORT forum pages. Service notes for other aircraft are already located on their respective aircraft type SUPPORT pages. Mark C AKL/NZ

Thanks to all how are trying to help me out I really appreciate all the responses. Aerofoto I like to believe I followed your most recent response. I trashed all base A/C, from my A/C folder started from scratch. I did a print screen showing what I did in hopes this will help you out once again. If not this time it will never happen. I am still not sure if it has something to do with not having a full version of Win 7, as I have an upgraded version. Possibly I don't have the complete control as having full version. I am not a computer expert when it comes to issues like this, I asked a friend & he said it's possible. ( he is not a Flt Sim person), but he knows computers pretty well. Like I once said I had HJG before my miss fortunes of starting all over again with a clean hard drive. I truly don't believe this is how I did it before, it seems as though it went in glitch free. Again thanks you all. Best regards.

The contents, as much as you showed, of the aircraft folder looks OK. Did you install the panel properly with the gauges installed also?

STOP THE PRESSES!!! FOUND THE PROBLEM! ;D You installed a 727-100 Early aircraft, and tried to put a 727-200 early texture on it. I decided to download all the files you were using to try an install myself since I use W7. After I got the 727-100 Early base pack, I went to get the texture, AA 1968_223_n6805, and couldn't find it. Low and behold it's a 727-200 texture. Delete everything and start over, only now download the 727-200 Early base pack, panel, gauges, sound, and then that texture should now work, along with everything else. Mike
