We already have numerous Midway paints in the downloads section Actually .... there's "one only" MIDWAY AIRLINES DC9-10 represented among the DC9's .... as follows .... .... BUT .... the others to which you refer (in regard to the DC9's at least) are actually MIDWEST EXPRESS which is an entirely different operator .... so far as I'm aware. There's also a MIDWAY METROLINK MD81 represented among the MDXX's .... .... but again .... and so far as I'm aware .... it's got no relationship with the original/classic MIDWAY AIRLINES to which the customer is enquiring regarding .... and which, "IF" I'm thinking of the right carrier, went "tits up/belly up" about 2 or 3 day after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Another "MIDWAY" airline again .... I think/believe.
This's where the "MIDWAY" name becomes "really interesting".
MIDWAY AIRLINES was a Chicago based "NO FRILLS" airline that commenced operations during 1979 using DC9-10's .... which supported the airlines "Rainbow" scheme as depicted by Tony's texture above.
This airline later commenced an upgraded one class service .... as MIDWAY METROLINK which operated DC9-30's and MD81's .... until around 1985 .... and which supported a predominantly white livery similar to that depicted by Thomas's MD81 texture above. This operation proved unprofitable for the airline.
During 1984 the airline acquired some of AIR FLORIDA's assets and later returned "low fare/NO FRILLS" type operations .... as MIDWAY EXPRESS .... operating B737-200's in a basically red/white/grey striped scheme .... and eventually expanded operations as far afield as Las Vegas, and was operating coast-to-coast (USA) services by 1989 .... and by which time the airline also operated MD83's, MD87's, and MD88's.
The airline had also acquired FISHER BROTHERS AVIATION during 1987 .... which saw it launch its own feeder service that operated under the MIDWAY CONNECTION title using DORNIER 228's.
During late 1989 it acquired some of EASTERN AIR LINES assets and commenced a north/south service along the east coast (USA) .... but .... proving unprofitable this operation was eventually sold to US AIR during 1991 .... the same year during which MIDWAY AIRLINES also entered bankruptcy .... ceasing operation on November 13th 1991.
It seems that the MIDWAY AIRLINES and MIDWAY METROLINK are connected .... as are the EXPRESS and CONNECTION operations.
Obviously not the Chicago based carrier which I thought had voluntarily ceased operations a few days after 9/11 though.
Although I, originally, thought this was MIDWAY AIRLINES, I can't, now, think whom that airline might actually have been

Well again seems Mark knows his airline history ;D Midway(Raleigh-Durham International Airport,North Carolina based) ceased operations on September 12 (the last flights were on the morning of 9/11). The whole story: *The high-tech slump of 2000-01, but more importantly the commencement of operations at RDU by low cost carrier Southwest Airlines, hurt Midway, and the carrier abruptly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on the evening of August 13, 2001. Thousands of employees were laid off immediately with no warning, and their access cards to the airport ramp were deactivated overnight.[3] Increasingly relying on the higher seating capacity of the 737-700s, Midway continued to fly during reorganization; but after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Midway never restarted operations after airspace was shut down, and ceased operations on September 12 (the last flights were on the morning of 9/11). Following $12.5M in financial infusion from the US federal government, Midway resumed service utilizing their fleet of 12 Boeing 737-700 aircraft from RDU under its own livery on December 19, 2001. They continued this service until US Airways offered to have Midway fly regional jets as US Airways Express. On July 17, 2002, Midway once again abruptly discontinued service and disposed of its fleet of 737s and without warning, again laid off all employees. They remained closed until February 2003. At that time, they commenced operations as US Airways Express, with limited service offered from hubs in both RDU and Washington Reagan International Airport (DCA). They operated with 6 regional RJ-100's serving the East Coast Cities and some mid-west destinations. They finally ceased operations on October 30, 2003 through a Chapter 7 bankruptcy when it was unable to acquire enough capital to stay afloat despite a private equity firm's infusions during the course of Midway's history. The same private equity firm Wexford Capital eventually became involved with Republic Airways Holdings after disposing of its interests in Midway Airlines along with National Airlines after the 9/11 terrorist attack which affected the airline industry so drastically. Here's my Midway story...
My first airline, Chicago Express, used to operate from a gate in Indianapolis shared by Midway's CRJ-200s. Passengers would walk down the jetway, exit onto a portable set of stairs, and walk across the ramp to one of the two waiting airplanes.
Chicago Express operated flights to Chicago-Midway. I don't know where Midway went, but I do know it wasn't Chicago. Anyway, almost invariably, some of our passengers would come down the steps, and be confused by two airplanes. Well, they're heading to Chicago-Midway, and one of the airplanes was conveniently labelled "Midway." Like a city bus, right?!
It always looked like a prisoner exchange when the Midway FO walked over to our airplane with several of our rather confused passengers in tow!
