I think the BRISAIR -62 has already been earmarked by Tony MADGE (at least i think this's the same one discussed just last week) .... when he has time. I believe we have both the JET AVIATION and NASA -72's already represented on our "DC8-72" downloads page .... probably some limited appeal with regard to these private 8's as they're not really so "historic" John DETRICK has already advised me he's keen to do the KUWAIT AIRWAYS 62F (when he has time also) since it's an aircraft leased from ATI I particularly like the idea of the KINSHASA - SPIRIT OF THE CONGO" -55F (a good partner for Ben HARTMANN's recent B707-320C repaint of the same carrier) .... so .... we'll see what happens. No promises ! Mark C BOG/CO

61CX at the time was owned and operated by ATI. ATI was under contract to Kuwait Airways. A contractual dispute arose (read that as the Kuwaiti's refused to pay) and the Kuwaiti government impounded the aircraft. Pilots were flown in disguised as maintenance staff and the aircraft was flown out of the country. The joys of being a non schedder!!!

Interesting story there John ! One of these days .... and with your help (what I'm about to say can only be properly done with the aid of an long term and senior "INSIDER") .... I'd like to present a historical profile about ATI operations .... like those already appearing on the "AIRCRAFT HISTORIES" of our forum A future project .... like many other ideas of mine ! Actually .... there's number of DC8-70's we probably need to look at .... when the guys feel free to consider them .... the BETA CARGO bird is just 1 of around 5 I can think of.

Its true you have the NASA and Jet Aviation birds, but their newer paint jobs are gorgeous and I thought that (especially the Jet Aviation bird, which is quite common in the skies) it might be nice to keep those birds alive in the FS world too. Thanks for the kind words and consideration. I have another suggestion, not a DC-8 though. Has anyone considered this rare 707: www.airliners.net/open.file/0195263/L/Quiet Skies Inc. Boeing 707-3J6B N717QS (cn 20717/882) Stage III Note the winglets and stage III engines! Quite a rare bird and not much is known about her whereabouts now. Last photographed at Burbank, 2000. Del 05/74 to CAAC as B-2408, served with African Safari as well. Cheers

Looks like one for Gary CARLSON I'd say. I know he was working on a model with winglets and the new P&W JT8D-217 engines .... as I recall. I didn't know AFRICAN SAFARI AIRWAYS ever operated a B707 Do you know if it feature the classic zebra fuselage stripping as applied to it's DC8 & -50 .... or .... a more sobre variation of livery like that applied top their DC8-63 ? FYI .... John DETRICK is now well advanced with a repaint of the KUWAIT AIRWAYS/ATI DC8-62CF. You can view early previews of this on our "GENERAL" forum. Mark C BOG/CO

If Gary wants to progress both the model and texture, it'd still be a nice one to see represented here though .... because it's "ALL AVIATION HISTORY" Interesting list Ben .... thanks for that ! Mark C BOG/CO

I know Ben thinks she's awful looking, but I have a soft spot in my heart for her. She was one of a kind, with Stage III JT-3D's and winglets. The model and paint have actually been done for a while, I just got sidetracked with 50 other things. Cheers, Gary

I guess we'd need to get George to slightly modify the FDE for this one .... in relation to those winglets enhancements ! A stand alone Aircraft Base Pack I do believe "BRING IT ON" Gary ! Mark

Firstly .... the thread you´re replying to is´some "10 YEARS OLD" now .... dated "2007" Secondly .... that particular model was never supplied before Gary CARLSON had to leave this group for both family and professional reasons .... so .... the answer to your query (as things currebtly stand) is "NO" .... and in any case as we replied yesterday to your following thread .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8418/rounded-engine-cone.... "no model edits, or expansions, are planned for any our B707 flightline". Mark C BOG/CO
