2018 has not only been HJG's most productive year ever (having released more than 384 new and upgraded files), but, also probably it's most challenging year to date (during its 18 years of existence) having miraculously overcome, most of the IT related issues confronted recently. It's thanks to Pete DALY/SIMVIATION.COM, and our small but talented development team, that HJG continues to exist. Just a couple of minor details we need to explain before we get started with our normal orientation intended to describe the content of this/our final release for the 2018 year ....

1. The recently experienced delayed response times when selecting files for download has been resolved .... all files are now downloading properly and without any delay, so, disregard all previous forum commentary in regard to this particular issue.

2. As some have already observed .... EZOIC advertisements now appear on each of our DOWNLOADS pages.

PLEASE NOTE .... this is here to stay.

Whilst everything HJG offers is 100% "FREE" .... kindly understand the service which allows it all to exist "IS NOT" free .... since someone else, somewhere else, "pays for this". This form of advertising has therefore been authorized in order to assist our host and service provider in this regard. It should be be noted that the top of each downloads page or section now features advertising space for pop up placards .... but scroll down below this space .... and all files are located there, accessible, and completely un-compromised. Should one be irritated by such advertising pop-ups ..... then .... it's one´s "own personal responsibility" to employ an add-blocking utility and enable the appropriate protocols in order to cancel such intrusions. We cannot do that for you.


MOVING ON NOW TO THE CONTENT OF THIS RELEASE ....


Thanks to the incredible genius of our very own George CARTY .... we have pleasure releasing the latest improvements and expansions for our DC-10 project. This upgrade is composed of new aircraft base packs, panels, and panel gauges/core files. The Improvements incorporated into this latest release are as follows ....


1. The previously missing external night lighting effects files are now included within each individual DC-10 aircraft base pack.

2. The DC-10-10 (standard version) MGW has now been corrected.

3. The DC-10-10 and DC-10-10CF (standard version) fuel capacities have now been corrected also.

4. New/edited 3D models featuring GMAX wing flexing improvements are now provided .... these GMAX improvements are based on what we´ve been able to apply to these models given the limited source code available to us.

5. 2X new 4-fuel tank featured "DC-10-10(ER)" and "DC-10-10CF(ER)" aircraft base packs and 2X new and supporting 4-fuel tank featured "DC-10-10(ER) and "DC-10-10CF(ER)" panels have been released .... these are referred to internally as "LAKER AIRWAYS versions" since this airline was the first to benefit from this configuration which was also later applied to a small number of other DC-10-10's. Information concerning this rare configuration (and some of these latest updates and improvements also) may be reviewed here ....

6. Existing textures for each of the following DC-10-10 subjects feature revised FLTSIM.XX data designating these aircraft as "DC-10-10(ER)" and "DC-10-10CF(ER)" versions .... and the file description data for each these subjects, on our DC-10-10 texture downloads page sections, have also now been edited to reflect these alterations for ease of identification ....

7. New panels for all DC-10 versions have been released (all FSX version PANEL.CFG files now have their forward left and forward right side views fixed .... this particular issue "was never" applicable to FS9/FS2004).

8. Other main panel instrument re-configurations have been applied to "all DC-10 panel versions" .... bringing these panels closer to panel/gauge layouts of some operators.

9. The panel/gauge night lighting effects for "all DC-10 panels" (which only became evident during some FS time of day lighting scenarios) has been attended to/fixed .... we believe.

10. Our forum based/online DC-10 manual has been updated to reflect these latest edits/improvements and additions and may be accessed as follows ....

PLEASE NOTE: The above manual includes clarified installation instructions, checklists, and a number of both written and video tutorials .... along with almost all of the information necessary in order to be able to understand and fully enjoy these DC-10 simulations. It is recommended that this manual be revised frequently as this information (like that within most of our other manuals) is constantly revised .... as we perceive any need to do so.

PLEASE NOTE ALSO: Beyond the above explanations there are no changes to any of our existing DC-10 sound packs or texture files .... this data "has not" been altered .... and nor have any of our previously recommended procedures either.


In regard to new or replacements installations of our original DC-10 project .... pay attention to each of the following advisories ....


If installing our DC-10 project for the very first time .... follow the instructions which accompany each file and/or refer to the additional/clarified installation notes featured within "SECTION 1" of our above-linked forum based online manual.

If replacing any of our original DC-10 project data with this "new and superior" release then please pay attention to each of the following advisories ....


1. Delete all original aircraft base packs (however all texture folders and their supporting CFG based FLTSIM.XX data may be saved and installed inside the new aircraft base packs .... except in the case of the "new" DC-10-10(ER) and DC-10-10CF(ER) subjects) .... replace all of this with our new/latest DC-10 aircraft base pack versions.

2. Delete all original DC-10 panels .... replace these with our new/latest DC-10 panel versions.

3. Delete the original DC-10 panel gauges/core files .... replace these (both panel "gauges" and panel "sound" components) with our new/latest DC-10 panel gauges/core files version.

4. "DO NOT" .... take short cuts in regard to any step of our recommended installation procedures.

5. "DO NOT" .... mix old/original base pack, panel, and gauges/core files data with any of our new material .... a fresh installation is best/recommended.

PLEASE NOTE: FAILURE TO OBSERVE AND FOLLOW THE ABOVE ADVISORIES WILL ENSURE THIS SIMULATION DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY .... so please .... save yourselves (and ourselves) any potential aggravation by simply "following our recommended instructions" .... doing so does tend to make life, and these (any) simulations, a whole lot easier and all the more enjoyable too

The DC-10 P&W JT9D turbofan sound pack .... must be used with all DC-10-40 Aircraft Base Packs only.

PLEASE NOTE: these sound packs must be used with HJG supplied DC-10 Aircraft Base Pack/FDE files only. These sound packs will not work as intended if used with the wrong aircraft base Packs .... or non-HJG supplied FDE files. Do not use the wrong panel, aircraft base packs, and sound packs with each of these DC-10 simulations or audio issues "WILL" result.

2 F1 texture subjects were released with this last website update .... one featuring the 2007 livery .... and the other featuring the later 2017 livery .... both representing the very same aircraft, but, one with and the other without the tail logo.

All quite legitimate

And of course these 2 Bae 146-100 subjects are complimented by the F1 RJ-70 as well .... which Tony did done much earlier (in a different variation of livery again) .... so ... we effectively now offer the entire F1 fleet of ARJ/BAe aircraft in each of their respective period liveries.
