There´s things we can do (easily) .... and other things we´d like to be able to do "but can´t" (often for a multitude of different reasons) .... SO .... we´re often forced to find contentment somwhere between both extremes .... THEN .... pass our satisfaction on to everyone else in the hope they´ll be equally content with what we´re "able to" offer.
I wanted to say that (above) first .... as it´s a point I´ll revist upon the conclusion of this presentation
ANYWAY ....
The first stage in preparing for our new DC-10 panel project release is aircraft base pack and FDE editing.
This´s essential due to some of the systems being implemented into these new panels and that require FDE adjustments in order for these additional features to be able to work .... BUT .... this base pack editing isn´t confined to just FDE modifications alone .... because given what we´re "able to do", using the (incomplete) source code we inherited several years ago, we´ve also managed to edit a few more details associated with the 3D DC-10 models (and which is the 2nd stage of this update/expansion) within each base pack and which were (we feel) in need of attention .... SO .... when our new DC-10 panel project is eventually released (and I must stress we´re not hurrying) it´ll be accompanied by a re-release of each of our base packs for these simulations .... which will contain not only new FDE but 3D models revisions for each DC-10´version too.
This´s the 2nd round of updates we´ve been able to apply to these models since we first released the DC-10 here during December 2015 .... the last round model updates (during 2016) having been focussed on improving some engine related features and adding animated/working cargo doors to some models which didn´t previously feature these details.
Specifically .... and on this occasion .... it´s the landing gear which has come under scrutiny during this latest round of model edits. The gap which was noted to exist between the underwing and lower fuselage gear bay doors has now been repaired: And the inside surfaces of the gear bay doors (on some models only .... since not all of these required precisely the same treatment) have been darkened somewhat also given some of these did previously appear way too light.
PLEASE NOTE: "None" of the current 3D model file names have been changed and "no" additional models among any of our current DC-10 base pack variants have been added .... at this stage.
The following is a quick ensemble showing each of the new/edited models supporting some of current, and not yet released, textures/liveries for these simulations ....

In reality the CLG on these, and other CLG equipped DC-10´s, could be used, or removed, or even uplocked too and in accordance with the weight/payload dictates of any particular DC-10 operation.

AND NOW TO COMPLETE A FULL 360*/CIRCLE ....
Given the resources we inherited several years ago (and it´s the completeness or incompletenes of this sort of data which ultimately dictates what we can and can´t do) .... we´re content with what we´ve been able to achieve and are preparing to re-release.
These models aren´t entirely new productions and don´t represent the latest or ground breaking new FS model technology though .... and we "DO" need to be frank/honest about that .... BUT .... they do represent "further improvements" over what we currently host (minor or cosmetic though some of these improvements may be) .... and as such we hope everyone will be content with our own stated contentment thus far.
I won´t rule out the posiblity of further model editing in the future (we´re remaining tight-lipped in regard to this though .... so kindly don´t ask .... because you won´t get an answer from me ) .... but once again .... what we´ll soon be offering "IS" the best we can achieve .... for the time being.
I´ll add a similar separate presentation of each of our new DC-10 panels later on .... when I can/"at my own personal convenience" since we´re all "pretty busy" behind the scenes here at the moment .... this DC-10 project (composed of 3 separate phases) being "just one of" some 5 projects currently advancing for future HJG release .... and "NO" I won´t be lured into elaborating upon what some of these other projects might be either (so again please don´t ask ) .... other than my stating "NONE" of these have yet been hinted here so far
"SPECIAL THANKS" to our highly talented and indispensible George CARTY for his magnificent efforts over the past "almost 3 years" (that´s how long some projects need to take in order to be developed properly) for his "MUCH APPRECIATED" efforts so far
I also want to thank "DC-10BOY/Stan" .... and "a certain group of retired real world ex-airline F/E´s" also .... for their invaluable assistance to us over the necessarily lengthy re-compilation period for this DC-10 project
